MARCH MADNESS

This week is the official start of March Madness for antique lovers. The two week antique craze known as Round Top Antiques Week, kicks off in the small town of Round Top, Texas, population 88. Over 5,000 dealers of treasures, trash and everything in between inhabit miles of Highway 237 between the towns of Burton and La Grange, transforming fields of wildflowers and Texas longhorns into fields of tents full of European antiques, colorful collectibles and just plain ol' junk, for as far as the eye can see.

Lolo and I arrived in Round Top on Friday afternoon and began setting up our booth in Tent D on Saturday to get ready for opening day at our field. Designers and decorators began descending on our field as soon as we arrived. Lolo hung chandeliers and mirrors and assembled tables and tops...of very big pieces. We shined copper and silver, and dusted and waxed furniture until late at night for several days.

Chandeliers are hung!
Mirrors are hung!
Furniture is placed!
Signs are out!

When our show, the Arbor International Antique & Interior Design Show kicks off Wednesday, we'll be ready for the masses. Our March Madness has begun!

À Bientôt!
